This section is for linking videos of demos of full band arrangements I'm working on.

There are currently no links in this section because I finished my first album, Delusions Of Grandeur, on 21st June 2024 and all the previously linked tracks are no longer publicly viewable. They can be found in their final form in that album. I've kept what I wrote here about creating Substance Affection for interest.

Substance Affection started out in 2010 when I came up with the main melody on the guitar. Later I came up with a rhythm guitar part for it, which was followed soon after by incorporating a new rhythm guitar riff that I came up with for a solo section to follow the melody. Then I worked on soloing on electric guitar along with a recording of that.

Later again, I started messing around with the melody backing on the piano, which evolved into its own piece, which ended up as the core theme of the solo piano intro, which I liked repeating, so it initially had the form BDBD. But it continued to feel like it needed some more development so I came up with an intro and an interlude, so now it has the form ABCBD, which I'm very happy with. Finally I wrote bass guitar and drum parts for the band section. So the result is a piano intro followed by the original melody played on alto sax used as brackets for two electric guitar solo sections.

All of my compositions are similarly as organic as Substance Affection to a greater or lesser degree. Guilty Bystander, Granite Planet, Look Around and Foreveranda Café are no exception. I'll tell their stories elsewhere.
